Through our Company Headquarters in Riga, Latvia, we have won European Tender for supplying six microwave dowmconverters for Diagnostics KK3 (ECE Radiometer) of EFDA-JET. JET, the Joint European Torus, is the flagship of the European Community Fusion Program. Knowledge gained from JET provides valuable input into the design of "next step" devices such as ITER. The success of the JET program is seen as an important step forward in developing commercial fusion power.

The JET Facility operates a multi-channel heterodyne radiometer for measuring the evolution of the electron temperature profile of the JET plasma. This instrument operates over RF range 70-140GHz, which is divided into six RF bands. The signal in each RF band is downconverted to 6-18Ghz IF band by means of a mixer and microwave source acting as a local oscillator. Six ELVA's local oscillators have center frequencies of 63.0, 73.50, 84.90, 97.20, 109.35, 121.40 GHz, that covers required 69.00 - 139.40GHz range. These downconverters will play a key role in diagnostics upgrade of JET. For more info on JET please visit http://www.jet.efda.org.
