Ku-band Digitally Controlled MER-VCO series Synthesizer
With
new MER-VCO series Synthesizer, ELVA-1 Millimeter Wave Division widens
the instrumentation product range for a series of digitally controlled
synthesizers. The MER-VCO series Synthesizer has TTL-logic 13bit frequency
control word that allows 100KHz step size for output frequency.
The synthesizer unit is compact enough and could be installed as external
component within a case of other instrumentation equipment.
ELVA-1 can
build MER-VCO series Synthesizer for any custom frequency from 4GHz to
26GHz. Customers who need upper frequencies can be provided with ELVA's
IMPATT Active Frequency Multipliers (see http://www.elva-1.com/products/microwave/IMPATT-26-150.html
) to deliver frequencies from 26GHz to 150GHz.
See MER-VCO series Synthesizer specs and phase noise oscillogram at http://www.elva-1.com/products/measurement/kb-s.html
Digital
Driver Unit with Linearization for Solid State Voltage Controlled Attenuators
VCVA series
An analogue
driver unit for VCVA, announced at our June
Newsletter, got its digital "twin".

Main
Features
- 0-50dB,
covered in 255 steps
- 8bit input
control code allows 255 steps of attenuation, one character per attenuation
setting
- <100
µs switching time
- Built-in
capability of linearization of attenuation
- Precisely
calibrated for VCVA when shipped
ELVA's Digital
Driver Unit DVC-RS232 series intended for PC-based control on the Voltage-Controlled
Variable Attenuators VCVA series through RS-232 serial port. The main
feature of the driver is its built-in linearization capabilities of attenuation.
The 12bit internal code allows DVC-RS232 logic chipset to linearize an
attenuation curve with attenuation accuracy not worse than 0.1dB. Each
driver is precisely calibrated with an each specific VCVA, and they both
are shipped as whole unit.

specs and linearization plot at http://www.elva-1.com/products/microwave/dvc-232.html
page.
