Welcome to the Newsletter

Since the newsletter subscription was introduced at our website recently, we have got dozens of people who are interested in product news from our company. Furthermore, the same wish was expressed by many of business and professional people, who we met at conferences, trade shows and other meetings. That's why we introduced monthly ELVA-1 Millimetre Wave Division Newsletter delivered over subscribers mail list. This mailing list is aimed to keep you up to date with ELVA-1 Millimetre Wave Division products. If you know anyone also, who might be interested in this newsletter, please feel free to forward it on.

You can leave the mail list by forwarding to web@elva-1.spb.ru alias with "unsubscribe" in the subject and if you would consider sending us an email to tell us why it isn't what you want, we are always grateful for the feedback. If you no longer wish to receive this newsletter, then we will be sorry to lose you. And at last, if you have any questions about this newsletter, then please mail us as well.

Solid-state Noise Sources of ISSN series Compatibility

ELVA-1 has produced the Solid-state Noise Sources of ISSN series, with eight waveguide bands covering 26.4-170 GHz (so called Ka; Q; U; V; E; W; F; D bands). The application of these sources is noise standard for test equipment. The noise sources, which use silicon IMPATT diode as a base block, are compatible with many branded noisemeters on the market, for example HP 8970 or Ranatec Noise Figure Meter 7100. The supply voltage for Noise Sources is 28VDC with the current consumption of 60mA that ensure the compatibility with widely used noisemeters from third companies. This level of 60mA current consumption is true for all Noise Source models below 75GHz. For upper frequencies an external power supply (that come as shipment option) should be used, and +28VDC input should be attached to noise meter as usual. In this case it will be used for triggering (on/off switching of noise source).

The typical value of ENR is 15dB with a typical flatness of 1.5dB. All Noise Sources of ISSN series are shipped with Calibration Passports. High stability of the sources allows them to be used for test and instrumentation applications in replace of commonly used gas-tube noise sources. The additional advantage of silicon technology is low DC power requirements. This eliminates the need for complex high voltage supplies. See Solid-state Noise Sources webpage for more info:

We ship FMCW radar front-end as production-run product

The 94GHz FMCW radar front-end has left the developmental stage. Now, we ship FMCW radar front-end as production-run product. This new 94GHz FMCW radar front-end is the production-run OEM subsystem product. There are two versions of the radar front-end currently: 10mW and 200mW. The applications of Radar Front-end are object location in construction and in survey measurements, vehicle obstacle detection and collision warning in transport area, level sensing for loose/granular materials and other applications.

For more information on this unit including tech specs, pictures and design drawings pls visit http://www.elva-1.spb.ru/products/industrial/FMCW.html.
